Building a cob house (mainly mud) is probably one of the most enjoyable and healthiest activities I have ever taken part in. Not only were we covered in mud on a daily basis, and inhaling all sorts of lovely natural fauna, we were also lifting very heavy mud and sculpting it into shape.
We were also lifting very heavy mud and sculpting it. And the truth is that mud is extremely good for you, just check out mud faces masks and you'll see what I mean. But I can honestly say that getting down and dirty is also good for the body - both mentally and physically!
"Children love getting dirty. They are drawn to puddles like muddy magnets, with no regard for footwear or the colour of their clothing. But getting mucky could have a powerful effect on their wellbeing, too." - How mud boosts your immune system
So next time your children or grandchildren come to visit, get the wellies on and get out in the garden with them. You'll benefit from the experience just as much as they will.
